Binissalem, Balearic Islands
Majestic historic property to restore in Binissalem
Price
€1,500,000
This spectacular 17th-century property is an architectural gem with cataloged elements that evoke the elegance of bygone eras. Located on a quiet street in the charming wine village of Binissalem, this estate offers a tranquil and private rural setting, while still being just a few steps away from the village center. With a built area of 784 m², the property consists of several buildings full of character. The main house, spanning 270 m² over two levels, stands out for its impressive stone arches, which are a testament to its historical value. Next to the entrance, a cellar retains the same majestic arches, offering a space with enormous potential. At the rear and side of the house, two smaller buildings add possibilities for customization according to the needs of the new owner. Separated from the main structure, a small construction is linked to a water deposit system that once supplied the orchard and the formal garden at the entrance, fed by its own well. This historic property requires a comprehensive restoration, which must respect its cataloged status. Additional features include municipal electricity (which must be reconnected) and its own well.

The municipality of Binissalem is located in the centre of the island and has over 7,500 inhabitants. The small town stands out for its stone architecture; the well-known stone of Binissalem, and for the production of high quality wine, as well as for its beautiful landscape. It has an extensive gastronomic offer, as well as several supermarkets, pharmacies, banks and all necessary amenities which are open all year around. Its flat valleys provide relatively easy routes for hiking and cycling, and the surrounding mountains offer stunning views. Every year it has two main events: the Wine Festival (Festa des Vermar), which is celebrated in September, and an annual demonstration of stonecraft artisans (artesanos picapedreros), which is usually held in May. It’s set approx 25 minutes from the airport, and 30 minutes from the centre of Palma and its beaches, making it ideal for nature lovers who don’t want to be too far away from life in the capital.
