Establiments is a residential area located in the North of Palma de Mallorca. It is a very well-looked upon, high-in-demand area due to its proximity to the city centre whilst also offering easy access to all amenities of daily life and green, tranquil surroundings. The area is mainly made up of highly residential zones, home to beautiful country estates and charming fincas. The district borders the municipalities of Esporles and Puigpunent to the north and west, respectively, and the districts of Son Anglada and Secar de la Real to the south and the suburb of Son Espanyol to the east.
Establiments dates back to the 16th century, although the territory of the current neighbourhood was occupied much earlier. Prehistoric remains can be found in the nearby Son Bauçà and Ca'n Mallol caves and during the period when much of Spain was under Muslim rule, from the 700s-1400s AD, agriculture developed in the area. Once an independent municipality, Establiments became part of Palma in 1910.
