Location: Santanyí, Balearic Islands

Santanyí is located in the extreme south-east of Mallorca, around 50 kilometres from Palma. The village in the south-east, with its almost 12,000 inhabitants, is one of the most beautiful in Mallorca. The houses are built in the original Mallorcan style with their typical Marés sandstone. There are many small shops in the centre where you can find unusual fashion, jewellery and decorative items. There is a market here on Wednesdays and Saturdays, which runs through the entire centre. Here you can enjoy the colourful hustle and bustle of one of the most beautiful markets on the island. The Vall d'Or golf course, with fantastic views of the sea, is approx. 20 minutes by car from Santanyí, and you can also reach various marinas in approx. 15 minutes. The Mondragó Natural Park, which offers two marvellous bays, is in the immediate vicinity. Cala Llombards, Caló des Moro, Cala S'Almunia and Cala Santanyí, where the crystal-clear water is shallow and the beach is perfect for families, are also in the vicinity of Santanyi. Cala Llombards is the bay of the village of Es Llombards and is a very cosy little residential area that has grown over the years. It stretches around a beautiful larger bay, which ends in the north-east with the famous es Pontàs, a rock gate standing in the sea. The houses here are wonderfully quiet, partly above the bay, partly on the beautiful rocky coast with an unobstructed view of the sea. Cala Llombards is bordered by a rural area, quiet and very scenic. The village of Es Llombards can be reached from Santanyí in approx. 5 minutes by car.
